Meet the Artist
Hello, I am Katie Das! 👋

I'm a stained glass artist living in Manhattan, making lead-free stained glass from my apartment, and sharing everything I learn along the way.
I started this site because I believe art is collaborative. The techniques I use today were passed down through centuries of artists before me, and I'd rather share what I've figured out than guard it as a secret. Whether you're brand new to the craft or trying to level up, you'll find tutorials, honest supply recommendations, and original patterns here to help you make something you're proud of.
My process - designing patterns, cutting glass sheets, grinding each piece to size, wrapping in copper foil, and soldering it all together - took years of trial and error to get right. Now I document it so you don't have to start from scratch.
What you'll find here
- Tutorials & guides: honest, experience-backed posts on techniques, tools, and getting started
- Supply recommendations:Â the brands I actually use after a lot of expensive trial and error
- Stained glass patterns: original designs available for you to cut and create yourself
- Behind-the-scenes: gallery shows and whatever I'm currently obsessing over
A little about my background
My artistic style has always been shaped by wherever I've landed. I grew up in Arkansas, spent nine years moving around Northern California, survived a record-breaking winter in Utah, and moved to New York City in March 2024. Through all of it, making art has been my constant.
When I'm not in the studio
You'll probably find me exploring the city with my dogs Yoshi & Zuko, feeding pigeons (and possibly rats) in the park, or zooming around on roller skates.
Want to follow along in real time? I share my process on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
